Australia 1997 - 2019
Uzi Wiesel spent most of his later years in Australia. Having toured in Australia three times between 1961 and 1970 with the Tel Aviv Quartet, it was interesting that his path lead him to be living there later in his life.
He taught at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and the Australian National University as well as the National Academy in Melbourne, and also gave master classes in Perth and Adelaide among other places. He performed chamber music concerts with some of Australia’s leading musicians and finished his J.S.Bach Suites edition. Students from around the world visited him during this time. Until 2015 he made annual visits to Israel and to other countries to give concerts, master classes and to sit on the Jury of international competitions.
